REMINDER: A few of us are meeting tomorrow morning at Blake Street Cafe, (Off Jervois Rd), at 10.30am for brunch. Any one in the network is very welcome..just turn up. I have booked us a table to avoid disappointment...the food is great and the company will be greater. Looking forward to seeing you Peter and Andree and Di. ...and maybe a few others...see you soon. Hi Jill and others,
I am probably going to the Warrior of the Heart workshop. It is just out of Wellington so I've coordinated that with leading my own workshop ( the one discussed below) in Wellington on the Monday and Tuesday afterwards. I am planning on being exhilarated after the Warrior workshop so I am on fire for the Monday and Tuesday...I'll let you know how true that is afterwards. It would be great to have you and perhaps other ALIA people there. I went to the West (Vancouver Island) ALIA gathering (May, 2009) and it felt like home coming. I'd love to hear your sense of the Halifax one...in person with some luck.
Cheers L

Hi everyone, I have been following this with interest, and hoping that you will get together over there. I have been toying with the idea of making it across to New Zealand for one of the Art of Hosting activities with Toke Paludan, in March. I'm particularly interested in the Warrior of the Heart. Is anyone going to those? The topic looks very close to one of the modules in this year's ALIA Summer Institute's program,
best wishes
Jill

Hi All
Apologies for my absence. I have just spent a few weeks in the UK. Very cold and very enjoyable.
I am afraid i will not be able to get to Auckland for the get-together
Wishing it much success though-whatever that may be

I also wish you all a happy, healthy and present 2010

Hi Olivia,
Thanks for asking about the Cultivating Mindful Leadership Presence workshop being led by myself and Stephen Archer. We just met up today actually and we are so clear that our "simple" offering in Wellington (March 22-23) will powerfully touch hearts, minds and feet alike. You can read more about it under "events" on this site...or a bit more below too. We are focusing on cultivating the practice of mindfulness, and its application to conversations that matter and that generate new "richness". There will be plenty of space for participants over those days to "stretch their mindful (and metaphorical!) wings", to play around with what it's like to simply be fully present with others as we converse, rather than having to "impress", to instantly problem solve, to 'know". We anticipate it will be fun and interactive, but also a serious work-out as so often we do not exercise our mindful capacities at home, let alone apply this to leadership, and do so for 2 whole days. Please do chat to me or Stephen about it...we'd love to see you there.
Kind regards
Lisa

Tena koutou katoa,

I want to respond to your comment Damien about what you saw as the purpose of the group. I like the idea of warming up to each other as colleagues and sharing what we are reading or what we are interested in at any one time. You mentioned your interest in 'living systems' and I was affected by that.

I am the lead in my organisation for a programme called the Leadership Lens. It is a two year programme that cultivates high potential individuals for future leadership roles. The programme has just been submitted for an award. It was originally designed by another staff member. When I read the submission for the award I felt 'unseen' for my contribution for the programme. I realised that the impact I had on the programme was to make it a 'living process'. I humanised the programme so the participants had a felt experience of their own development needs and cultivation, and became motivated, inspired to achieve positive outcomes. This also meant that they transferred this learning to their staff and influenced a change in the larger system of 'developing people (capability) in the organisation. Thanks Damien for helping me to see this through your comments on the purpose of the group.

Lisa, I understand you are doing some work with Stephen Archer (a dear friend of mine) around leadership and presencing. It would be great to hear about this.

That's great Di, It'll be nice to finally meet you. I wonder if we can tempt Gael S to be here too? You still in close touch with her?
We are a group of about 4 right now...any other takers out there?

I think that I might have already indicated that I am unable to attend. I am now registered on Skype and this may be a good way for any future contact and whatever emanates out of the 6th. One thing I am interested in is what people are finding interesting in reading at the moment and whether there may be someway of assisting one another with keeping fresh with ideas and processes.
Best of luck with the meeting.
