The part where we managed to heal ourselves and positively spreads around has to be reconected again and again. In my personal case I get fallbacks and need to be reminded of my arrogance and ego, forgive and forget, and reconnect and give back joy…

That sounds like a great practice to me, Kevin. And I agree with both you and Renee that we have to see it, really know it, in ourselves before we spontaneously see basic goodness in others. Every morning I try to remember to do my "bus…

Kevin A. Johnson commented on Chris Corrigan's group 'Supporting personal practice'
In my formative years I adopted the belief that there was no such thing as human goodness, but over the past 15 years I've come to evolve past those impositions and set my goodness free.  That evolution began with one question: what if…

Renee Jackson commented on Chris Corrigan's group 'Supporting personal practice'
My basic human goodness begins with self-awareness, and Being true to my self. It's letting go of the conditioning imposed upon me by others, and creating the norms that work for my authentic life. It's learning to love myself, and being…

Well said, Mia. Today I am experiencing the "gentling" power of community as the other side of personal practice. My friend Michael Marlowe says that perhaps THE most important message for our time is "you are not…

Reading the comments served as a practice just now. I felt wider boundaries, softer and gentler. Perhaps if I/we practice "belonging", we can feel less afraid of who we are and trade self-consciousness for the generosity and calm that…

Leadership, intergenerational learning and Ojibway words

A couple of weeks ago I was in Thunder Bay on the Fort William First Nation. I was there working with Ojibway leaders, youth and Elders from around the north shore of Lake Superior and northwestern Ontario on traditional governance and the assertion of Aboriginal rights and title.

Our work here is about exploring the meaning and practical implications of all of this stuff, introducing people to a powerful political and legal strategy that has been developed by the National Centre for… Continue

HI Chris, I'd email you but...then I thought others may be in similar situations so could benefit from my question...so here I am!
I am co-facilitating a workshop on Thursday and Friday this week on Mindfulness and its application to Leadership. We are going to be following the Theory U process and some complimentary ideas. I had planned on the Friday to do a world cafe type set up around the question.."where will mindfulness practice allow you to make the biggest shifts in your leadership practice"...AND then ..."what are you aware of in your leadership life that obstructs you or others from being mindful, and what releases that quality of attention".

Now I am re-writig those questions here I see that they maybe could do with some work...BUT my real original question to you is this: We had planned on about 15-20 people but will in fact only have 9 (including 2 of us) . Is it realistic to do a worldcafe with this few people?..would 3 tables of 3 work?...or just 2 tables of 4? I guess my intent was for the group to share their experience and initial hopes for the application in such a way that builds and feeds on one another. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers from a rather cold Auckland NZ.
