I think that I might have already indicated that I am unable to attend. I am now registered on Skype and this may be a good way for any future contact and whatever emanates out of the 6th. One thing I am interested in is what people are finding…
Welcome Olivia.
I've just returned from a week in Noosa and am busily setting up my new business - hence my inactivity in the group for the past few months. My details can be found at www.damienfbrennan.com.au
I'm aklso trying to change my…
John,
(And G'day again Jill). Thanks for keeping this moving. Unfortunately I won't be able to get to Melbourne in December. I'm finishing in my current role and place of work on the 24th December and I have much to do over the next…
Michael,
Many thanks for catching all of this. Linda and I returned safely to Brisbane one week ago and the pace of work since then has been challenging, to say the least. I am chairing a big event day on the 30th July with 3000 school students in…
Folks,
There is a contingent of aroound 10 Aussies and NZ people at the Summer Institute who have not as yet joined our network. I am encouraging them to do so. Also you might want to check out the Conference blogs etc on the main ALiA site.
The…
Great idea John. I remember windy Warnambool well - it was one of the toens I looked after when I worked in the Ballarat Catholic Education Office in the 1980s. We escaped to the warmth up here in Brisbane 19 years ago. I would very much look…
Folks,
I leave early on the 17th on the big haul to Halifax via Sydney, LA and New York for the Summer Institute. Big day in transit to NY, over 30 hrs. I've allowed 3 days to recover before heading to Halifax.
I'm really looking forward…
I'm looking forward to attending very much even though it is a "long walk" from Australia. I'm counting down the days before I get on the big winged bird.
I've returned to work today after a very nice quiet and wet Easter break - unfortunately two of my family decided to bring back a "dreaded lurgie" from their recent sojourn in Dubai! great to have them back...but I've now caught…
G'day,
I'm in Brisbane and going to the Summer Institute this year. I'm wondering if there are any sister/fellow travellers who will be present. I'm moving to my own consultany business next year and am looking forward to…
Please share something about yourself, your work, and what draws you to the ALIA community.
I have just started my own consultancy business which focuses upon leadership, management and learning services. Details can be found at www.damienfbrennan.com.au
Attendance at ALIA in Halifax 2009 was a remarkable catalyst for moving me forward with this new venture.

Hi Damien,
Sorry not to get back to you sooner. Yes I am going to ALIA West, and it would be great to share stuff that might help for your time at the Summer Institute, and visa versa. Thats another way we could use this site too.
I do not know of any other NZers going at this stage. In fact the numbers look pretty low if I go on numbers in the the group on this site.
I'd be interested to know what kind of consultancy work you plan to do from 2010...and how come starting then? What has been your trigger?
Cheers Lisa
Hi Damien, I am in Brisbane (and think I have met you when I was doing some work for Departmet Education training & the Arts in the policy area). I am still deciding whether to go to the summer school.... but it would be lovely to meet up before if I do go.....
Thanks for offering to chat with my son. I suspect that he will be heavily involved with colleagues and may not contact you. I will forward you offer, with thanks.
Hi Damien, I've resent the invitation to join the Summer Institute group to your email address. Let me know if it doesn't get through. I've now set it up so you can request to join the group right from the group page, so you could also try that.
Cheers,
Ryan
