The power of simple random acts - How the 'I Can' project started in Sri Lanka

Having spent a week with Glenda and Wendy and my new friends at the 'Adaptive Action and Artful Perception' module, I have begun to believe more and more in the power of individual action in complex systems. I share with you below something I posted to my web site about how a 'Simple Random Act' connected me to an amazing social change and is helping me make sense of of my actions in the world.…See More

Please share something about yourself, your work, and what draws you to the ALIA community.
I am a human resource and organization consultant, and my work ranges training and coaching in leadership and self-development to change management and organizational transformation.

I am excited by many things that are happening. The opportunities for transforming the way we live and work, in the current economic collapse, the possibilities for extraordinary acts by ordinary people just because they care and want to make a change, to be alive at a time when what we do individually has such an enormous impact on everyone else, and therefore the motivation to make our acts worthwhile.

This is what draws me to communities like ALIA.

I am currently interested in exploring how we ‘dialogue’ with each other on our past, perceptions, prejudices, hopes and fears so that we may create a shared understanding and meaning that will enable us to co-create a shared future.

Hi Mihirini! Yes, nacy :))). I am fine yes, thanks. As always, seeking challenging assignments that take not only the client, but me further along the path too. Maybe we can skype again soon - it's been a while.

Hi Mihirini,

I want to share one of my master teachers Daniel Goleman an international scholar and acknowledged for research based leadership for results and based on my perception of your few comments. Here is the presentation that Daniel gave at Goggle on social intelligence. Please see the link below (YouTude - Authors@Goggle:
Daniel Goleman, 56 minutes). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hoo_dIOP8k

Also, there is an article which was published in the Harvard Business Review, September 2008, page 74, "Social Intelligence and the Biology of Leadership." www.hbr.org.

I invite you to join my page as a friend on ALiA and I would like to do the same. I look forward to learning and exchanging ideas, thoughts, feedback and comments.

With gratitude,
Wali
