I consider ALIA as my "home" community I have been to every Summer Program in Nova Scotia but one. I am putting everything I've learned into action now more than ever: starting the hub in Halifax and doing some really interesting large-scale Change work in the Province (Public Health System, Food System, Diversity and Inclusion work).

Sera, check out my lastest blog :)

I trust that you will enjoy your new insights and learning this summer in Halifax with invited guest speakers and facilitators. I invite you to be open to learning an emerging field of the science of complexity, i.e., Human Systems Dynamics (HDS) and the Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS) in organic systems, i.e., organizational settings. The scholarship of Daniel Goleman and his research team in community life of humans describes it precisely as having the "science of results", to be adaptive in chaotic environments, no matter what. I am thanking you in advance for listening and being opened for giving yourself permission for new learning and new ways of being. I wish you the best ever learning at ALIA this summer. If you choose, please give my warmest regards to Glenda.

Now let's have beautiful exchanges/conversations and see our beautiful differences and notice our how beautifully we as individuals can place them in containers to make the difference that is the difference as we pursue three questions: What, so what, and now what? in multiple stories and realities. Subsequently, we would have the capacity to influence the difference that makes the difference and repeat the process, as it relates to organizational settings in chaotic environments, peace and conflict projects, substance abuse programs, programs with effective treatment for veterans suffering with symptoms of PTSD, marriages, youth at risk programs, leadership development programs, restoring lack of trust efforts, leading transformation projects, organizational culture change projects, integrating spirituality and leadership in organization development programs, transitional moments and non-verbal communication projects and/or case studies, and developing coherence in social intelligence in organizations projects and/or case studies. We look forward to the engagement and learning.

Warm regards,
Wali

Hi Sera, how are you? I trust that you are well. I am following-up on a recent message that I sent and I am not sure if you have received it or not. Please see below and I welcome your great energy and comments (email: mutazammil@hotmail.com).

A message from Wali Mutazammil to all members of
Africa Group on ALIA Institute! April 30, 2009

I am committed, courageous, compassionate with great energy and positive spirit playing large wherever I am needed in Africa. I join ALiA Africa Group to be with leaders like you who are being and becoming authentic leaders with focused mindedness toward Africa, specifically to renew, replenish, refresh, restore, and revive its great people and culture.

Currently, I am in the infancy stage of organizing a World Conference on the Goromonzi Project in Zimbabwe, possibility to be hosted in Halifax, Canada 2010 or 2011. Since Janet Shaw, Founder and Director of Goromonzi Project, and also one who is living in authentic leadership has been keeping me updated with their progress and development over the years; I decided I/we could be the difference in giving back to future authentic leaders with joy and abundance. How? First, we need collective prayers of your preference, positive spirit, great energy, trust-based relationships, powerful questions, new lenses (eyes), new conversations (private and public), different observers, committed actions, smart partnerships, and being curious, rather than knowers.

The "possibility" of a new beginning of how the Africa Group can show-up, not like a job where you make money which is good. The showing-up that I am inviting us to think about is how will this affect individually and collectively our journey of being and becoming an authentic leader today? Before you make a choice, please check out the link below: http://www.goromonziproject.org/newsletter.htm

Be well and keep in touch. Wali

Dear Sera, I thank you and your support team for creating a forum and community for Authentic Leadership. Also, a learning environment that promotes naturally unleashing our brains maximum potential to have a magnificent mind at any age. Being and becoming an authentic leader requires us to consciously and consistantly looking at ourselves in the mirror. Authentic Leadership nor being an authentic leader is not about being perfect or always having the right answer. Name any authentic leader of your choice, and what truth do you find about she/he, they were about striving and thriving in achieving human models for excellence. As you know, we can look not too far in the past and name several authentic leaders who demonstrated during their life time examples of authentic leadership, and left models of human excellence that are admired, useful and empowering worldwide today. In my assessment, President Obama is inviting world citizens to help him create a new framework and understanding of human oneness, and an appreciation of our differences. I ask the question and to paraphase Meg Wheatley, what is it costing us from "moving beyond fearlessness?" I am inviting ALIA community to keep cultivating our authentic leader that resides in all of us toward victory, so that we may experience the feelings, thoughts and actions of one spiritual family of inclusion, rather than several conflicting human families. With love, gratitude and excitement.

Cosmic child,
Wali

Note: I am full of joy and excitement to be a member of the Africa Group.

Sera, great beingness and work with people who typically do not have access to transformational learning. Clearly, it sounds like to me that you have been and are giving the gift away to others, so they too may embrace the Hero that resides in them. What? To create new eyes, and new conversations in their own beingness and becoming different observers. My prayers are with you and the receivers of the gifts that you have shared will inspire them to continue their learning journey to make healthier choices, even when there is no evidence. How can I support you now?

With gratitude,
Wali

Sera! He's a priest in a tiny village where one of my friends lives. He's in the temple waiting for women to arrive with offerings for Full Moon Ceremony. I thought he was beautiful. He thought he looked old.... Huge hugs, Colleen.
